When to Start Prolotherapy
Many times I am asked about what is the ideal time for prolotherapy. Nature has its own healing time of 6 weeks, so after 6 weeks of injury if we don't get adequate relief, that is the time to initiate prolotherapy.
The best example of natural healing is when we have a fractured bone - the body takes approximately 6 weeks to form adequate callus and begin healing. Similarly, soft tissue injuries follow this timeline. If pain and dysfunction persist beyond this natural healing window, prolotherapy can stimulate the body's repair mechanisms and promote tissue strengthening.
